Fred J. Adams, CPA
Born in Montgomery, Alabama and educated at the University of Utah and the Golden Gate University Branch in Seattle, Washington; Fred joined the Treasury Department as a Special Agent in 1972. He served in Las Vegas, Nevada; Seattle Washington, and Tacoma, Washington. During his service with the IRS, Fred obtained his CPA and his Masters in Taxation. After retiring he opened his CPA practice in Kent, Washington, and devoted it to the practice of tax. He also served stints as an educator with the Justice Department for the governments of Venezuela and Columbia. He moved his practice to Greenville, South Carolina in 1997. He is a certified public accountant and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the South Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants. In 2002 he added the financial planning division to his company. Fred is a dedicated family man and the father of four children.
Marlene Booth, CPA
Marlene merged her tax and financial practice with ours in 2011. She was born in Medicine Lodge, Kansas, grew up in Tucson, Arizona and then traveled the world during her husband’s military career. Most of that time was spent in the United Kingdom where she worked as a manager for Hinchingbrooke Hospital in Cambridgeshire, a part of the National Health Service in England. Marlene attended the Wichita State University, Kansas, the University of Norwich, (England), and the University of Maryland (Germany), before graduating with Honors Magna Cum Laude from the University of South Carolina with a major in Public Accounting. Prior to opening her firm in South Carolina, Marlene spent approximately eight years in the public accounting sector, primarily at Apartment Management and Investment Company (AIMCO) in Greenville, a multi-million dollar real estate investment trust whose headquarters are in Denver, Colorado. At AIMCO, Marlene wrote quarterly and annual securities and exchange reports (SEC 10Qs and 10Ks) for publicly held operating partnerships and worked in the corporate accounting division.
Marlene and her husband have three daughters and one cat.
Irene Adams
Irene was born in Ontario, Oregon and was educated at the University of Idaho and at the University of Utah where she received her degree. She began her career as a caseworker with the State of Utah but decided to devote her time to being a full time homemaker and mother raising four children. Irene has worked as the office manager for the firm since its inception. Irene is actively involved in her family, church and duplicate bridge. Her hobby is traveling.
Phillip G. Brown
Phillip was born in Anderson, South Carolina. He joined the Army National Guard in 2004 and still serves as a Reserve member. As a Reservist, Phillip also pursued his degree in Accounting at The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina and graduated in 2009. He has 2 years of accounting experience and joined the firm as a Staff Accountant in early January 2011. Â Phillip is working towards his CPA Certification in hopes to be completed by mid year 2012. He specializes in Individual & Corporate Tax Returns, as well as helping clients with any tax issues. Phillip was married in September 2011.
